The unspeakables win state championship 2016

Hey there! We are the University of Sydney Quidditch Club. Hopefully you've got that by now. We are a club officially registered with the University of Sydney Union (USU), as well as with Quidditch NSW and Quidditch Australia. We were founded by Liv Ronan back at the end of 2012 as a place for people to be able to play quidditch and express their love of the Harry Potter fandom. Thus the Unspeakables were born as Usyd's first quidditch team, playing their very first game at the Australian Nationals in 2012.

Since our humble beginnings, we've grown into one of the biggest clubs on campus and one of the biggest quidditch clubs in the world. We provide people with the opportunity to play quidditch casually in trainings, in a fun setting in our internal league, or in a competitive setting in the NSW and National leagues. The ultimate aim of the club is geared towards allowing anyone who wants to, to play competitive quidditch against other universities and clubs, and to do this at a high level. A number of our players also compete at the state and national level either for the NSW Blue Tongues or Australian National Dropbears.

We run trainings three times per week, 2-5pm Thursdays and Fridays in Victoria Park, as well as flexible weekend session. We often go out to a pub and/or dinner or casual hangs after these, as well as other social events on a weekly basis, and various tournaments on a roughly fortnightly basis. While we are a 'quidditch' club rather than a 'Harry Potter' club, and thus our main activities are all centred around the playing of sport, many of us are fans (though you don't have to be), so no matter whether you're more interested in the sport or the fandom side, you'll be among good company here.
